Meu preferido usável foi o MMUTM, é um verde lindo naquele estilo glass fleck da coleção FX. O meu preferido difícil de usar é o Glitz and Glamour. Que dourado LINDO!!! É meio difícil eu gostar de um dourado tão amarelo e quente, mas é muito bonito mesmo. O brilho é uma coisa excepcional. Me lembra aqueles papéis alumínio que vem em volta de ovos de páscoa ! rs.

   O Naughty or Nice é um vampy super glossy e lindo também. Gostei muito de todas as cores que eu peguei!

My wearable fave is MMUTM, it's a lovely green filled with the Cosmic FX glass-flecked style. And my fave not so wearable is Glitz & Glam, this color is FABULOUS. It's so sparkly and beautiful. It's so unusual for me to like warm-golden polish, but this just won me over.

   Naughty or Nice, is a very gorgeous vampy. And, basically I love every color I have picked up from this collection!

Essie - Lapis of Luxury

Esse esmalte tem uma estória engraçada... Eu ia comprar em uma loja (online) que era mais barata, mas quando perguntei pro vendedor se ele tinha ele disse que estava esgotado. Então comprei pelo preço full em outra loja. E na hora que o moço me mandou o recibo eu olhei por cima disse que estava tudo ok e paguei...rs...depois, quando olhei de novo, ele tinha incluído o LL... Então eu tenho dois rs... Mas tudo bem, porque eu amo essa cor :P

This polish has a funny story... I was going to buy this at one e-tailer that sold it cheaper than Essie's usual price, but the guy there said that it was out of stock...Since I really wanted it , I payed full price on another e-store.  

  Then, the guy from the 1sr e-tailer sent me the receipt for me to check if the order was correct, I quickly looked at it and said, yeah it's ok. But then, a few days after, I saw that he included LL :/ So I have two bottles of this hehe, but it's ok, since I love this shade of blue :P

Minhas unhas estão bem mais curtas né? :( Mas a do dedo do meio ta com um "rachado" que vai doer se quebrar, então estou mantendo mais curta e lixando o que cresce pra sair logo...

My nails are much shorter :( The middle one has a break that will hurt like hell if I break it off, so I'm filing all the growth so this wil go away soon...

  My fingers look chubby with shorter nails ...lol...

I love this polish. Love the shade, the finish, the formula, everything...

  I just don't love it's price and the fact that Essie was bought by L'Oreal. That tests on animals...

Eles são bem parecidinhos, mas o OOTW tem um pouquinho mais de efeito duochrome do que o JulieAnne, e acredito que isso aconteça porque a base do OOTW é um jelly preto e a do JA é um roxo escuro acinzentado.

   Mas, esses detalhezinhos são coisas que só nós vemos né? rs

Zoya: JulieAnne

Prós:

Orly: Out of This World

Prós:

• Fórmula ótima
• Mais duochrome

These are very alike. But OOTW has a slightly stronger duochrome effect than JulieAnne's. And I believe, that happens because OOTW has a black jelly base, while JA has dark gray-purple one.

   But only us, polish-a-holics see these details...hehe

Cons:

• Quantity: .5 fl Oz
• Less duochrome effect

Thanksgiving day - Nada à agradecer / Nothing to be thankful for

Hey Ladies 

Todo mundo no Brasil já deve estar sabendo da vergonha que está essa cidade do Rio de Janeiro no momento.
   É triste ver de perto esse tipo de situação, de ter medo do que possa acontecer, se vão por fogo nos carros dos seus familiares, se irão cruzar algum tiroteio...
 
   O que acontece aqui é um problema que está enraizado na história desse Brasil explorado. Na forma que a pobreza cresceu para fazer os "ricos cada vez mais ricos e pobres mais pobres". Não se liga para o povo, se eles recebem boa educação, salário, alimentação...Aliás, segundo nossa história política, é melhor que fiquem pobres mesmo...
    Toda essa corrupção histórica se soma e atinge o ponto que chegamos hoje: guerra civil.
    Mas, não uma guerra por boas razões, uma guerra que surge do desespero do povo brasileiro por uma vida melhor ... O problema é que neste desespero, algumas pessoas se rendem à vida criminosa.
    A natureza humana está sempre sucetível aos aspectos negativos, e esse sofrimento se transforma numa necessidade de afirmação de poder. E é isso o que vemos: Uma guerra civil ditada pelos criminosos para provarem que possuem poder sobre a cidade.

Você consegue imaginar como seria se a história houvesse sido diferente? Se nosso povo fosse bem educado, saudável, e pudessem sobreviver confortavelmente? Acha que o problema atual seria tão grande como se tornou?
   Acho que não, mas mesmo assim...veja a Europa, o velho mundo, eles resolveram os problemas deles ao longo de séculos e séculos...Mas, nosso Brasil é novo, 500 aninhos só. E isso me diz, que esse problema vai demorar muito a ser resolvido...
     Hoje, nos USA é thanksgiving day, hoje no Rio de Janeiro, não tenho nada à agradecer...

I don't know if all my international readers are aware of what's going on in the city where I live: Rio de Janeiro.

   It's sad to see situations like this happening "up close and personal"... Being afraid that someone might set your relatives's cars on fire, if there are going to be shooting on the streets...

    Rio suffers from a lot of negative advertising, this city isn't usually this dangerous. Specially in the area where I live. But yes we do have a problem here. Brazil may not look like it, but it is a 3d world country. Basically because no one gives damn about life quality here...

    What is happening here today is rooted in Brazil's exploited history. In the way that poverty was "grown" so rich people could always be richer...Not caring about the "folk", how much they earn, if their lives are any good, if they've got good education... All the corruption in our political history results in this: civil war. Simply because the Brazilian people are desperate for a better life, and some in their quest, resort to the criminal life.

    And as it is pertinent to the human nature this ended up not being a civil war for a good reason, but a civil was as a reign of terror. Criminals destroying our city so they can prove to everyone they own it, that they have power.

    Can you imagine if history was different and these people were properly educated, well fed, healthy...Do you think problem would be so huge?? I guess not. But even so,look at Europe...the old world, they settled their problems along the centuries. But, see, Brazil was a exploitation colony and it's a young country...500 years old. So this makes me think this problem is going to take a long time to be properly solved.

   Today, in the USA is Thanksgiving day, here in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, we've got nothing to be thankful for.

Comparação / Comparison : Haley's Comet x Charla x Choose me !

Vou fazer algumas comparações de esmaltes da Cosmic FX com alguns que eu tenho. A comparação de hoje será com: O Haley's comet da Orly, Charla da Zoya e Choose me! da Essence.

   Today's comparison will be : Orly's Haley's comet, Zoya's Charla and Essence's Choose me!

Bom como vocês podem ver os 3 são idênticos. Sim idênticos, mas em cor somente.

   As fórmulas são diferentes, listarei os prós e contras de cada uma abaixo! :)

Orly 

Prós:

• Seca rápido
• Boa fluidez
• boa cobertura ( 2 camadas )
• Quantidade, vem 18 ml

Contras:

• Preço: é o mais caro dos três, 10 USD
• Quantidade: esse item aqui age das duas formas, explicarei o porque. Essa é uma cor bem chamativa, e se você como eu se estranhar usando ela nas unhas, você tem produto demais nas suas mãos...

Zoya

Prós:

• boa cobertura
• quantidade: tem 15ml 

Contras:

• Preço: 7 USD
• A fórmula é meio liquida

Essence

Prós:

• Preço: custa só 1,20 Euros
• Quantidade: tem só 5ml

Contras:

• Difícil de achar ( pela marca ser européia )
• cobertura ( leva 3 camadas)
• Quantidade: se você quiser mais produto

Agora, tem mais um ponto, as fórmulas da Zoya e da Essence são 3BF. Já a da Orly costumava ter Tolueno, mas não consegui ler as letras minúsculas debaixo do vidrinho.

Well, as you can see...They are identical! But, in color only.  Their formulas are quite different !Let me list you some pros and cons.

Orly 

Pros:

• Dries fast
• Good fluidity
• Good coverage ( 2 coats )
• Quantity: 18ml

Cons:

• Price: it's the most expensive of the three: 10 dollars
• Quantity: Let me explain why this appears twice. For some people having a lot of this polish will be great. For some, not so much. Since it's a very flashy polish.

Zoya

Pros

• Good coverage
• Quantity: 15ml 

Cons:

• Price: 7 USD
• The formula is a bit runny

Essence

Pros:

• Price: 1,20 Euros
• Quantity: 5ml

Cons:

• Not too easy to get, since Essence is mostly found in Europe
• Coverage ( 3 coats )
• Quantity: If you'll use it a lot

Tendo qualquer um dos 3 suas unhas ficaram tão bonitas quanto a de uma sereia :P Só decidir qual é melhor para você!

   Eu acabei ficando com os três e não sei se conseguirei usar rs!!

Having any of these 3, you'll have gorgeous mermaid nails :P Just have to decide which one fits you best!

I ended up having the 3 of them and don't know If I'll be able to use them all up!!

Make up ! - Roxo-Rosa / Purple-Pink

Hey Pretties!

Decidi fazer alguns posts de maquiagem já que a resposta foi razoável no primeiro que fiz :)
   Devo fazer também alguns reviews de produtos novos que eu comprar daqui em diante!
   Essa make de hoje tem uma estorinha, estava conversando com a minha melhor amiga, e dizendo para ela como é difícil para quem tem olhos castanhos escuros trabalhar com rosas azulados ( magentas, fucsias...). Porque essas cores fazem os olhos ficarem muito muito escuros. E eu particularmente prefiro que não pareçam duas bolas pretas :P
    Daí fui fazer um olho pink, e acabei tendo uma idéia, mudei tudo e fiz rosa funcionar! ( Ou pelo menos eu acho que fiz rs...)

I decided to do a few make up posts since the response to my last post was good :)
    I should also be doing a few product reviews whenever I get something new!
This look has a little story. A few days ago I was chatting with my best friend, and telling her how difficult it is to work with cool based pinks for those who have dark brown eyes like me. Basically because pink makes brown look black. And, personally, I don't like looking like I have two black marbles for eyes :P
    So, there I went to do a pink look to show how awful it gets, and changed my mind. And ended up thinking of a way that pink could actually work for me! ( Or, I think I did hehehe)

A maior parte de vocês devem saber, mas as cores que mais beneficiam os olhos castanhos são: Roxos, ameixas, verdes e pratas. Os marroms e dourados também, mas essas cores são consideradas neutras-quentes que funcionam bem para qualquer pessoa que tenha o perfil quente, independente da cor dos olhos ( funciona em algumas combinações frias também)
   O que eu fiz foi usar o rosa como uma cor de destaque. Usei o roxo e o prata mais perto dos olhos e o rosa lá em cima, dessa forma ele não "ofusca"o castanho e ainda cria um link para um batom da mesma cor.
    Esse não é um look exatamente mainstream, mas honestamente, quando se trata de maquiagem eu vou brincando com o que eu gostar...Até porque eu não sou muito mainstream de qualquer forma :P

Most of you may know, but, the colors that pop brown eyes are: purples, plums, greens and silver. The browns and golds are also very flattering, but those are neutral-warm colors that will look good on most warm toned people ( and some cool ) despite their eye colors.
    What I've done was using the hot pink as an accent color. I used purple and silver closer to my eyes and the pink all the way up near my eyebrows. This way the purple and silver did their job popping the brown and the pink served as an accent allowing me to use a same color lipstick and not making my eyes go flat black!
   This is not a mainstream look at all, but when it comes to make up, I like to play. And I'm not too mainstream anyways...:P

Depois eu resolvi fazer esse olho ainda mais colorido e substitui o prata por um verde-azulado que também é uma das cores que beneficia olhos castanhos

Then, I decided to make this eye even more colorful and changed the silver for a teal, which is also one of the brown-popping colors

Gosto ainda mais assim :P

I like this even better :P

E se perceberem, o verde azulado ajudou o castanho a aparecer ainda mais, não acreditam? olhem só !

And if you lok close, the teal made the brow pop even more, don't believe me?

• Fórmula: Ótima, a consistência é perfeita:)

• Pincel: Longo,macio e fino e a tampinha da Orly é ótima!
• Tempo de secagem: Bom
• Acabamento: Glossy

• Formula: Great, the consistency is perfection. 
• Coverage 2 coats 
• Brush: Long, soft bristles and thin. Also Orly's cap helps a lot
• Drying time: Good
• Finish: Glossy

Nesse bloco meu preferido é o Galaxy Girl. Mas o Space Cadet também é maravilhoso!

•      Out Of this World: A base é jelly e preta, e isso ajuda as partículas a mostrarem mais o duochrome delas. Um dupe para essa cor é o Julie Anne da Zoya, eles são quase idênticos, o que acaba diferenciando é que a base do Julie é roxa e o duochrome é um pouquinho menor. Farei um post sobre, e vocês verão que é quase imperceptível. Mas, eu preferi a fórmula, tempo de secagem e o ligeiro duochrome mais forte da Orly.
•    Galaxy Girl: Esse esmalte é um dos mais lindos que eu tenho, e é meu preferido da coleção junto com o Lunar Eclipse! Ele tem um dupe, o Formidable! da MAC e dois semi dupes: Bruise da Urban Decay ( difícil de achar ) e o Embroidered Emerald da Misa. São semi porque o shimmer deles é diferente, não tem o tipo de mica dos FX.
•      Space Cadet: É meu terceiro preferido ( o segundo sendo o INRS ), ele é o mais multichrome de todos, e tem um efeito mais metálico que os outros também. Tenho a impressão de que além da mica ele tem shimmer. Ele também tem um dupe da MAC, o Mean & Green e o Beetle da Hard Candy

Como vocês devem ter percebido, a maior parte desses esmaltes tem um dupe ou semi dupes. Mas mesmo tendo parecidos eu preferi os da Orly por algumas razões:

1- quantidade de produto: o vidrinho da Orly tem 18ml, o comum é 15ml

2- fórmula

3- preço /acessibilidade: O Orly custa 10 doláres, enquanto os da MAC custam 13 e vem com 8ml. E alguns dos dupes são complicados de conseguir por serem marcas americanas de farmácia ( Sally Hansen, Hard Candy). Mas, quem quiser se aventurar no e-bay acha fácil esses por lá, eu é que implico com e-bay mesmo rs...

   E acho que esse corte de mica deve ser novo e os colorantes vendidos de uma forma mais ou menos padrão, porque surgiram muitos dupes.

   Ah lembrei agora, a Accessorize acabou de lançar alguns esmaltes que são dupes de alguns desses também, mas não sei muito sobre esses :)

On this group my favorite is Galaxy Girl. But I love Space Cadet too, it's so pretty!

•    Out Of this World: The jelly base on this one is black, and this helps the mica to show it's pretty duochrome better. This one has a dupe, Julie Anne from Zoya. But Zoya's has a dark purple base and the duochrome effect is slightly weaker. Nothing too noticeable but OFTW is my fave of the two. I will do a comparison post.
•    Galaxy Girl: This polish is one of the most beautiful polishes I own and it is my favorite of the collection together with Lunar Eclipse! It has a dead on dupe from MAC: Formidable! And two semi dupes, Urban Decay's Bruise (htf) and Misa's Embroidered Emerald. I said semi because these two do not have the mica-glass flecks.
•    Space Cadet: It's my third favorite ( after INRS), and it's the most multichrome of them all. Also, it has a more metallic look to it than all the others, I think it has some extra shimmer. It has two dupes, MAC's Mean & Green and Hard Candy's Beetle.

As you guys must have already notice, all of them have dupes or semi-dupes. But even so I liked the Orly better for a few reasons:

1- Product amount: Orly's bottles have 18 ml while most have 15ml

2- Formula

3- Price/accessibility: MAC's are 8ml for 13 USD and Orly's 10 for 18ml. And all the others are mostly from drugstore brands I do not have easy access to.  Yes, I know Bay of Evil ( E-Bay ) has all of them, but I have a sort of resistance to buy anything over that site! lol

  Also, I think this mica cut must be new and they are sold together with the same colorants. That would explain the amount of dupes in the market.

   Ah, I just remembered, Accessorize just released a few polishes that are dupes for some of the FX, but I don't know a lot about them :)

Orly - Cosmic FX PT.1

( Mudo muito essa intro né? rs / I change that intro a lot don't I ? lol )

Entonces, vamos lá. Estou atrasada mas, que nem as outras coleções da Orly, melhor tarde do que nunca! Especialmente essa!
   Para quem não ouviu falar, a FX é a coleção que a Orly lançou para o Outono do hemisfério norte. A formulação contém mica, mas num corte diferente do que ela costuma ser usada. O resultado são particulas finíssimas que tem um efeito bem similar ao de glitter, mas também possui efeito duochrome! E ah, também são super lisinhos, nada de ficar que nem lixa!
   São seis cores lindíssimas, algumas são novidade, outras nem tanto.
   Vamos dar uma olhada ;)?

So, let's go... I'm kinda late on this, but better late than never right? Specially with this collection!
    For those of of you who haven't heard about it ( lol, anyone left? ), FX was Orly's take for Fall. And the big deal about these, is that they contain a different cut of mica that resembles glass flecks, and not only they glitter...like glitter! But, they also are duochrome! And ah, they are completely smooth, no grittiness here!
    This collection has 6 new gorgeous colors, some are novelties and others, not so much.

De uma forma geral essa coleção é uma das coisas mais lindas que já apareceram no mundo "esmaltístico". Mas minhas cores preferidas desse bloco são a Lunar Cadet ( talvez a minha preferida de todas ) e a INRS. 

•    It's Not Rocket Science: É um dos meus preferidos, é um verde oliva, mas com o brilho da mica lembra chartreuse. É liiiindo, talvez um dos mais discretinhos também. Ele tem um quase dupe, que é o Zombie Zest da China Glaze. Mas mesmo assim não é idêntico. Mas acho que não vale ter os dois.
•    Haley's Comet: É lindo é, a fórmula é ótima, mas...Tem 3 dupes: Zoya- Charla, OPI- Catch me  In Your Net e o mais novo Essence- Choose Me! Existem vários comparativos em blog, e vou fazer um aqui também. A cor é idêntica, mas vai da preferência de cada um pela fórmula, quantidade, preço etc...
•    Lunar Cadet: é a cor mais "única" desse grupo, até dizem que um dos HDs da Sally Hansen e o DS Magic da OPI são bem parecidos, mas nenhum é um dupe exato. O azul é perfeito e o duochrome roxo só ajuda a ficar mais bonito. É mais "discreto' que o Haley's Comet.

   

In a general way this collection is one of the prettiest things that was ever released in the polish world. But, my fave colors on this group are Lunar Cadet ( maybe my favorite of all ) and INRS.

•    It's Not Rocket Science:It's one of my favorites. It's a pretty olive green, but w/all the sparkles going on it can go a little chartreuse too. It's gorgeous and maybe one of the most discrete ones. It has an "almost-dupe" that is CHG's Zombie Zest. They're not completely alike but not different enough to own both ( or so I heard )
•    Haley's Comet: It's very pretty, has a great formula, but...It has 3 dupes: Zoya- Charla, OPI- Catch me  In Your Net and most recently, Essence- Choose Me! There are many comparison blog posts, but I'm going to do one here as well. The color is identical in all of those but I can't say there is a "better" one because it all depends on your preference for formula, price, quantity of product, etc....
•    Lunar Cadet: It is the most unique color of this bunch. I have heard that one of the Sally Hansen's HDs and OPI's DS Magic are pretty close to this, but not "dead-on-dupes". The blue shade is perfection and the purple duochrome just helps it to be even prettier. If you like blues this is a "discrete" option to Haley's Comet.
